Spy films offer a perfect thriller recipe with action, adventure, drama, technology, politics, and possibly comedy. James Bond films are the most popular spy films.
Traitor is typical spy action thriller. You would at least find a hundred spy films that Hollywood has made and Traitor is in the 'decent' category films. The story is an usual cat and mouse game with a predictable screenplay and moderate action sequences.
One of the positives of the film is that it does not have any dull moments. The screenplay is fast paced albeit unsurprising. The title reveals almost the whole story and so there are no anxious moments to grasp. When the film is halfway through, you'll know how's the movie gonna end. And this serves as a major setback for the film.
Performance wise the actors have done a fitting job but unfortunately this isn't enough. The interesting twist in the climax is something to look out for and was unexpected from a stereotypical story.
Favorite Movie Quote:
If a man hasn't found something he's willing to die for, he isn't fit to live.
Although viewing this movie from a filmmaking perspective I found the film ordinary and lacking in essence, for commoners Traitor would be a good action film to watch. You will also be exposed to the working of terrorism and intelligence networks.
