One word review: Captivating!

IMDB: 8.2

Did you know?

The lead actors Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe were not popular enough during the time of casting for this movie.

L.A. Confidential is a crime thriller with multi-star cast. The film is over two hours in length with riveting screenplay that leaves you completely engrossing with twists and turns. Tailored for a star studded cast, this cop story is sophisticated and mysterious in it's own way.

The astonishing aspect of the film lies in the distinguished character graphs laid out for the lead roles in the story. You have a composed scrupulous character, a nonchalant grandiose character and then an indignant but chivalrous character. When you get to juxtapose them together in a story the end-result is a great movie. All the lead roles were backed up with laudatory performances from the actors who have portrayed them. And almost all other characters in the movie also had a spectacular arc which was both amusing and intriguing.

Favorite Movie Quote:

Go back to Jersey, sonny. This is the City of the Angels, and you haven't got any wings.

The movie is thrilling, mysterious, and entertaining; thrilling in making us anticipate what is gonna happen next, mysterious with twists when you least expected and which you never thought of, and entertaining in leaving us spellbound. It's been a while since I watched a movie which had defied all my deductions and conjectures. L.A. Confidential is one of those rare movies that will leave you enthralled.

Verdict: Hush Hush, this is one hell of a Cop Story!

P.S. Don't judge a movie by it's trailer.
