Did you know?

Clint Eastwood, the popular American actor, has two Oscars for Best Director category.

Unforgiven is a western action drama produced by, directed by, and starring Clint Eastwood. Yes, he's everywhere behind the movie as well as in the movie. After the golden era of Hollywood - 1940's to 1960's, I think this is one the best western movies with authentic action scenes. The artistic touch to this commercial entertainer makes it one of the exquisite showcase.

Favorite Movie Quotes:

He should have armed himself... If he's going to decorate his saloon with my friend.

There are well-defined characters along with the lead actor and all of them play crucial roles in moving forward the movie in a sense of anxiousness and hostility. The story is set on a cowboy town where the inciting incident takes place and kick starts the movie forward. Our hero who is far away from action is drawn towards the town to fulfill his needs along with his partner, Morgan Freeman.

Performances from the actors are pitch-perfect. There was even a curios writer character, a biographer, tagged along with the villain to ease the tension and serve as a comic relief. Cowboys films are famous for gun fights, especially the one-on-one duels. Well, there is no paucity for gun fights in Unforgiven, you are given the adrenaline rush frequently and the pinnacle of all gun fights occurs at the climax sequence.

It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. You take away everything he's got and everything he's ever gonna have.

The beauty of Unforgiven lies in it's presentation of a commercial story in an artistic form. I loved the opening and closing frames of the movie with a mild mellifluous music in the background.

Verdict: Bang! Bang! Don't miss this Gun Fight!
