One word review : Sinistrous!

Disclaimer: No Spoiler Ahead.

IMDB: 8.4

The Shining is a horror-thriller movie and it does a pretty good job in leaving you horrified and thrilled. For a good horror film you need to have a good story and great horror scenes.

Based on a book, the story of The Shining is well established in the very beginning of the film and even portends what’s gonna come after. You are then waiting for things to happen and curious how it’s gonna happen. That’s how good horror stories keeps you at the edge of your seats. And this movie never leaves you bored.

Hallucinations, illusions, demons, psychic powers, and much more would be playing in your mind which will be trying to figure out what’s exactly happening in the movie. Don’t conclude anything as the scenes unravel because you are in for a complete surprise at the end of the movie. And that’s what makes this movie special.

I must write about the performance of the cast. The protagonist and other supporting actors have acted extraordinarily and at times you feel the macabre of the scenes so real through the characters. The background score for the film is stimulating and intensifies the mood of the film. And as always, the director stands out in his unique filmmaking style.

Favorite Movie Quote:

Verdict: If you are starting to watch horror films, then The Shining is a good one to start with.
