We are what we believe we are.

The story is thematic and so the characters are thoroughly defined. The crux of the story revolves around the protagonist who is in turn is the "antagonist". There is another lead character, a teenage girl, whose character is explicated through intermittent flashbacks that helps the viewers to elucidate the nature of the character. This particular sequence was cleverly written and portrayed.
