One word review: Banausic!

IMDB: 7.3

Did you know?

Benedict Cumberbatch lost around 21 lbs to for the protagonist character in The Courier.

The Courier is a decently paced spy thriller movie. The story is inspired by true events although not an accurate depiction. After a long time, I got to watch a movie in the theaters and it was quite a good feeling.

Movie Quotes:

From now on, you will be selling one thing. The idea that you are an ordinary businessman. And nothing more than an ordinary businessman.

Set in the 1960's the story is gripping and enigmatic. In many ways the movie is analogous to the Netflix series "The Spy". I felt like I watched a movie version of the series. Towards the end the film drags although we are left wondering what is impending and this is one of the major drawbacks. The musical score, BGM, editing and acting are the major highlights of the film which uplifts the mood in majority of the scenes.

No matter what the politicians are doing, factories still need machines and machines still need parts.

Benedict Cumberbatch is a true actor. He has lost weight, tonsured his head and has given everything to the role. The body language and facial expressions were extraordinary, making us forget Sherlock, Doctor Strange, etc. and watch a completely new character. Every other actor in the film has played their part with diligence and impressive performances which has helped in making the movie a satisfactory watch.

There are good lies, sometimes lies are a gift, an act of love.

With an interesting story backed up with extraordinary acting, The Courier is a one-time watchable movie. It is definitely a must watch for Benedict Cumberbatch fans.

Verdict: A Journey back in time to the 60's Spy Games!
