A derivative novel and seven comic books were published after the release of this movie.
Seven is a mysterious detective film. The story is thrilling and suspenseful from the begging to the end and rides along the perception of two protagonists having completely different graph; one who is erudite and experienced, while the other is impulsive and unheeding.
Portrayed as events happening over a week, the story has a strong connection to it's title. What I liked about the movie was, the amalgamation of the contemporary society with the ancient mythology in order to symbolize the vision. And using a strong antagonist to convey this ideology was a deft touch. The trenchant conversations between the protagonists, intriguing sub-plots and unravelling of the mysteries makes the movie riveting.
The performance of the protagonists and the malicious antagonist are remarkable. They help move the story without any signs of boredom. Although there are many positives about the film, one notable minus point for me was that it had a foreseeable climax. But I suppose for any viewer ignorant of arcane crafts of filmmaking it would be interesting.
