Did you know?
The protagonists of Conjuring series Ed and Lorraine Warren are actually real life personalities who were paranormal investigators.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is the third instalment in the Conjuring Series. It follows the same framework of its predecessors; inspired by real life incidents and having an appropriate balance between jump scares and engrossing plot. I was surprised by the lower rating because I felt no difference or degrade in the quality of filmmaking when the three parts were compared. Anyways, let's get an overview of the film right away.
Favorite Movie Quotes:
Being brave doesn't mean you're not scared. It means you are scared but you hang in there.
Following the tradition of Conjuring series, the core plot of the movie is spawn around the real life events encountered by the Warren couples. And I must say, for the sake of a horror film, the exaggerations are extravagant, which is not bad, because it definitely adds to the horrifying aspects for the movie. Moreover, the opening sequence of this film is by far the best of all the three parts as far as my opinion is concerned. It straightaway sets the petrifying tone for the whole movie and keeps the audience spellbound. So, if you are planning to watch this film in theatres, do not end up showing late to the screen.
I could go back to the house, Father, but my home is here with him.
Furthermore, there is an enigmatic and transfixing phenomena explored in this part which I'm sure will give creepy nightmares to the viewers. This terrifying phenomena would definitely leave anyone terror-struck. The only shortcoming I could discern in this part was that, the climax sequence was highly melodramatic and eventful. Apart from that, craft-wise the film is pitch perfect; foreshadowing elements of the film were satisfactory for me - I had my own "didn't see that coming" moments. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, once again have given a compelling and an enchanting performance that carries the whole film without any humdrum. I suppose you never get tired of watching Patrick in horror films.
The courts accepts the existence of God every time a witness swears to tell the truth. I think it’s about time they accept the existence of the devil.
The Conjuring and The Insidious series are two reputed horror film series that are renowned for incivisive and engaging story line balanced with jump scare scenes. In line with the reputation, Conjuring 3 is an absolute delight for horror fans and my recommendation is to watch it in theatres.
